Ian McMillan

Ian McMillan - Conductor - is a former Organist and Assistant Director of Music at St John’s Wood Church London, The House of Commons' church - St Margaret’s Westminster, St Paul’s Covent Garden, (The Actors' Church) and the Royal Church of St Anne, Kew Gardens.

Picture of Ian McMillanIan’s choral direction has embraced all aspects of choral music, including Tiffin Boys School Choir, Richmond Choral Society, The Tudor Singers of London, The BBC Singers, The Maida Vale Singers (for BBC Radio 2), The London Pops Chorale (for recordings and BBC TV), The Swansea Male Voice Choir, The Carl Rosa Opera Chorus, (also Music Director), The Chorus of English National Opera, The Royal Choral Society, and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Chorus and Community Choirs. He has directed massed choirs in several Galas at The Royal Albert Hall, and has been a vocal coach and singing teacher at most of the major Conservatoires, including The Royal Academy of Music, London.

Ian is Organist to The Purcell School, London and regularly accompanies services at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, Peterborough Cathedral, and St Alban’s Abbey, in addition to being in demand as an organist throughout East Anglia and London.

Ian has been Music Director and Conductor for 25 years with The world famous London Pops Orchestra, and is a regular Guest Conductor with the BBC Concert Orchestra (for BBC Radio 2), The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (in studio recordings) and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Bournemouth Symphony, Northern Sinfonia, Scottish Chamber and New York City Pops Orchestras in concert.
